Each series of fabric pieces goes through a ritual or process, from being drawned in car oil over and over again to being work and beat in an old metal factory in northern Italy, each process leaves a trace some more subtle than others but this trace is a hint of that moment, that story, that voyage.
Series 1 : Salt & Sea T-Shirt
Salt & Sea Tees are from salvaged t-shirts which have then been taken to the Corsican seaside where they are let to roll and tumble in the sea then dried over rocks along the shore.
Over time this repetition leaves subtle traces on the fabric, traces that take shape as clear impressions of white and grey distortion and earthly lines cutting across the fabric.
Series 2 : Pulpo T-Shirt
Series 3 : Toxic T-Shirt & Long Sleeve
Vincent Olivieri has had the unique perspective of the fashion scene as an inside outsider. He has worked as a set designer for 15 years with numerous brands / companies and industry legends. This project for him is looking beyond ‘fashion’ and into ritual / utility / process and his own roots and origins. He is originally from Corsica and the sea runs through his veins.
Original T-Shirt idea was called the ‘Crash-T’. A basic t-shirt that has bathed in the mediterranean, soaked sun on the rocks of the shore, full of stories. This shirt would feature a text message image of a red Ferrari crashed in the bushes from a friend who had a moment.
